Everybody’s a “‘Tweener” Now

March 10, 2005

Add Wisconsin DE Erasmus James to the growing list of defenders seen as “tweeners,” capable of lining up as ends in a 4-3 scheme or as outside linebackers in a 3-4 front. Pro coaches and scouts at Wisconsin’s pro day had James taking part in linebacker drills. The 6′3″, 266 lb. James also took part in LB drills at the Combine last month.

James played exclusively as an end in Wisconsin’s 4-3 last year. This versatility should make him highly interesting to the Cowboys, if he wasn’t already.
