The Dallas Cowboys released Quincy Morgan today, in anticipation of officially signing WR Peerless Price. The teams roster was at the mandated 53, so somebody had to be released or traded to make room for the newest WR.
Update: The Cowboys obtained former Chiefs safety Willie Pile and cut OLB/DE Eric Ogbogu.

Thanx, Kenny! No surprise on the release of Morgan. I was hoping that they could get a late round draft choice for Ogbagu but if teams know that you’re eventually releasing him you don’t have any leverage.

And ESPN drops the Cowboys 7 spots from #12 to #19, after our 3-1 Preseason, signing of Price, best D in the preseason, makes alottttt of sense to me. I cant wait until Mid Season when all these mediots are jumping on the Cowboys bandwagon.
Anyone look at who KC has on their roster at S? They have 4 quality safeties still on the roster. I say that because Pile may have been a guy they wanted to keep, but that the numbers didn’t work out. He seems to be a decent from Kenny’s scouting report.

You think ESPNs rankings are bad, have you seen the FoxSports.com ones? I’m usually a FoxSports.com fan, but they have the Cowboys 27th. Granted it’s before the preseason, but still, they weren’t even that bad last year, and we had one of the best offseasons in the NFL.
Don’t know if this was mention before, there is a little article by Adam Rank on NFL.com. He mentions that Parcells is counting on the “Over the Hill Gang” of Bledsoe, Glenn, Glover, and Johnson to win this coming season. Nothing about the young RBs or the young LBs we have. Of course, this article was written before the final roster was conceived. Wonder if Mr. Rank would like to rebutt this now that he knows that we have 10 rookies on the roster and approximately 30 of the 53 players with no more than 3 years of experience.

I can’t believe I’m saying his, but Merrill Hodge and Chris Mortensen might be the smartest guys on that panel. Actually, they both do a good job on some of the stuff they do, especially Hodge.
It’s going to be soooo funny seeing what these guys are saying when Minny can’t win 6 games this year. I really think they will be quite bad this year. No Moss means no offense for them. They have no WRs and their running game only worked because the safeties were both 30 yards down the field.
I have to say, with Johnson, Glen, and Price, we just may have the best recieving trio in the Nfl….Indy is the only team close.

Are you saying something good out of KJ? Is this an impersonator? Wasn’t he a TE? Ok, I’ll stop being funny… They’ll be definitelly good, to be honest, but not great, I still don’t see Bledsoe passing for over 3500 yards, number that won’t make the trio great and you need to remind that Crayton is also there, you know him, the guy that took that comparison with Hines Ward made from BP, who isn’t a known praiser.

Whoa NW, don’t speak too soon. Detroit and ‘Zona both have excellent trios, and all of them are younger than KJ, Glenn, and Price. I do have to agree that our recieving corps look a lot better than they did at the beginning of the offseason. We have three starting quality recievers, Crayton looks like the real deal, and we know what Price and Glenn can do with Bledsoe throwing it their ways. Just remember that BP is still going to run the ball as much as he can, and he definitely won’t forget about J-Wit. Our recievers are not going to get the ball as much as the guys in ‘Zona, Detroit, or Indy will this season. But you know what, that’s okay with me–when we do turn to them, we have three proven guys who will make the catch and score the TD. This year is looking better and better.
I sure hope that Price is worth the cap hit, the release of veterans that it made necessary, the possible dousing of Craytons’s developmentetc. He swears up and down that he will not have ego problems and will block while he is here. We gave up a lot to get this guy.

That wasn’t a lot, a one year deal worth a mill and a half if he doesn’t reach his incentives isn’t much, you don’t know how reachable are his incentives, maybe those are unreachable…
How many vets did we have to release at key positions to clear cap space for this guy? At least he got rid of Morgan for us. At last. I will be watching Price closely. Dumbass Mr Wal-Mart just couldn’t resist a bidding war could he. At least he was smart enough to limit it to a 1 year deal.
We didn’t lose any vets to add space, we already had space, there were 6 mill of available money, the only guy that makes me think twice is Robinson, but he was waived more on the fact that Condo has the potential to be as good, younger and cheaper.
You are not thinking critically Chandus. Also, what does signing Price say about the team’s confidence in Glenn to stay healthy?
also don’t forget about moss,porter,curry that’s pretty dangerous to me. i would even go as far as to say that is the best trio in the league.
Parcells said in his PC that he thinks he knows who will claim Robinson off waivers. Was there a possible trade there? They released Robinson in favor of Condo anyway.

Looks like backup tackle at both sides will be Tucker.

What do I know after hearing Parcells conference:
- He might take 5 receivers with him to games if he sees something really good among them and Copper will be one of them for every game, he’s his best ST player.
- Price could be left behind for the San Diego game, he hasn’t experienced Parcells schemes and language in his stops with Kevin Gilbride and the West Coast Offense he played in Atlanta.
- Fujita is right behind Singleton on the SS, Burnett was moved to the WS and now is Ware backup.
- Parcells isn’t comfortable with his depth at Safety, but he said that he can live with a combination of Reeves and Nate Jones playing some FS. So, for now, 6 corners is what he’s going to take for the season. Thornton is right there with Reeves as the 4th best corner on the team. And is a better corner overall, he’s just too inconsistent.
- And said that Robinson couldn’t match Condo snap hability, potential and price.

Also Mike when I said earlier that there were two more things in the works it was because i have a friend who lives in KC and he was telling me the paper there and sports radio talk shows were saying that KC was working a possible couple of deals with the Cowboys,I just didn’t want to say anything until it happened……
getting rid of antonio bryant for quincy morgan was a dumb move, but now we dumped antonio bryant for in essence peerless price, for now i can live with that a whole lot better.

Dr. Z on SI.com has us as a 10-6 team this year and his predictions are usually pretty good so hopefully it pans out.
i was watching the redskins and ravens games, and joe was saying that he think that the redskins are easy the better team between them and dallas. he also said that when the redskins beat dallas in week 2 that will be a big boost for their confidence. he said that blocking for bledsoe is like blocking for a statue, and they will line up on the line and make bledsoe beat them. he also said that the new 3-4 defense will be easy for the redskins to run against.
i have heard the saying that it is better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you are stupid; then to open it and remove all doubt. right now; i have no doubt. he must have taken to many head shots from the cowboys in his day.

Trading for Antonio Bryant wasn’t a dumb move at all. Talent wise AB has all the potential in the nfl to be a top receiver. But he was way too selfish to be a cowboy. BP wants a patriot ego free enviornment around Dallas, he wants his players to care about winning more than caring about their own individual stats. And the jersey throwing incident was just icing on the cake. He had to go.
Terry Glenn has played only 2 full seasons out of 9 years in the league. Getting Price was a smart move. And with Crayton stepping up his game, we have some depth at WR. Now i love the cowboys as much as any of us on this site but our receivers are still not top 5 in the league, not even close.
The biggest worry we have this year is Drew Bledsoe. He has alot of weapons to go to and a top notch defense. He has no excuses.

Paul, while I understand what you are saying about Bledsoe, I think the way you worded it is completely off-base, at least the way I understand it. We are discussing Bledsoe, playing in Dallas, in Parcell’s ball-control, play-action offense–not Harrington, playing in Detroit, in Mariucci’s West Coast version. Yes, Bledsoe is the most important player on his team, in the same way Tom Brady is–he has to avoid throwing to the wrong jerseys and putting his defense in tough positions. If you have watched New England much at all, Brady does not win many games, he keeps his team from losing them. Brady takes what he is given, the punter maintains field position, the defense stops people, and Vinatieri wins the games. Brady does a good job of it, and will be a Hall of Famer when his career is over, just like Starr, Griese, and Aikman, who did the same thing.
Given this analysis, the most glaring hole on the Cowboys currently may be at place kicker. Unfortunately, most teams do not have anyone as good at money time as Vinatieri.
look who the head coach is for new england. is he a protege of BP yes he is, he plays the same way BP does. field position run it down your throat and tough defense. thats how you win super bowls. if a high powered offense is the key to winning, indy would have 2 super bowls by now.
The Antonio Bryant trade (or GIVE-AWAY, as it’s turned out) is an arguement that may never go away. Not so long as some Cowboys fans are honest enough to admit it was a bad move, and still others are dishonest enough to contend that it wasn’t. Now maybe if we’d have as least GOTTEN something for him, even a high pick- but nope. Nothing. We GAVE him away.
Parcells just wanted him gone. And mind you, I believe that Parcells instigated that jersey-tossing thing. I think he pushed Antonio with his preferential treatment of his boy, Keyshawn, but I know some of you guys won’t believe that- cuz you don’t want to.
The only thing that’s gonna tilt this thing either way is when we see Antonio Bryant perform with Clevelend this year, paticularly with Braylon Edwards coming up. Now I know he has some maturity issues, but if he’s so selfish and disruptive, like Parcells wants everyone to believe, then we’ll see it- this year.
But on the other hand, if Bryant plays well, on the field and with others, ya’ll better be ready to eat some serious crow….

I just found out that the Saints & Giants game has been switched to Monday Night Sept. 19th at Giants stadium. The game will be telivised on ABC at 7pm (ET) & then they will switch to the Cowboys vs Redskins game at 9pm (ET). Well in the New York area, they are going to show the entire Giants game. I happen to live in NJ and I will end up missing the 1st half of the Cowboys game. I can’t believe they are doing this. Why not just show the Giants game on ESPN? Does anyone else live in the New York area?

The New Orleans Saints-New York Giants game will will be played as part of a nationally televised doubleheader starting at 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday, Sept. 19.
The game, already moved to the Giants’ home in the New Jersey Meadowlands, will begin on ABC, then be switched to ESPN at 9 p.m., when ABC goes to the regularly scheduled game between Washington and Dallas in Irving, Texas. In New York and Louisiana, as well as other parts of the Gulf Coast, ABC will continue to carry the Giants-Saints game, switching to Redskins-Cowboys when the Saints game ends.
The scheduling does not totally satisfy the other NFC East teams because the Giants get an extra home game from the switch — even if they are officially listed as visitors.
“I’d be smart not to comment on that,” Dallas coach Bill Parcells said Monday.
The Cowboys are also looking forward to having the national attention on Sept. 19 that they’ve scheduled the Ring of Honor induction of Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin for halftime of that game.

What you just said is exactly what I meant when I said Bledsoe has no excuses. Im not implying Bledsoe has to take the offense on his back and carry them to the playoffs. Just don’t lose the game. A 200 something yarder and 1 td with no int’s is what I would consider a good game from Bledsoe this year.
I just went to http://www.ABC.com and sent an e-mail to express my disappointment about the Cowboys Monday night game vs the Redskins. I’m not sure if this will change anything but, anyone who is upset with the decision to show the Giants game, can go to the website and send an e-mail to ABC.

Yeah Me 2. Everyone needs to remember that AB was going to be a free agent this year. He would have left, everyone knows that. He and Parcells didnt get along. I liked AB and he had a world of potential, but some guys like Price just cant play on certain teams in certain offenses and systems. Everyone cries about how we didnt take Moss, but we cant be certain he going to be this good on the Cowboys. Our QB situation was a mess. We did get the worse end, but its over now and we walk away with Peerless Price, so Im happy.
Im glad Price was signed to only a one year deal. Lets see how much he can help. We need some young studs at WR for our future. I think Dallas will prolly draft a WR with our #1 pick next year.
i e-mailed the ABC’s network in my area, and informed them of the importants of the “Deadskins and the Cowboys game. I live in Mississippi and I will be very upset if they are wanting to show the Saints and the Gaints on ABC just because they feel sorry for the Saints people. However, I do have the NFL Ticket so it better not effect my viewing of the game. IF it does; I will request a discount or a refund. Even though it may not effect my viewing; I still informed them that they are about to get some major nasty grams if they show the Aints vs. the NY Migets instead of the Cowboys vs. the Deadskins that is suppose to be on as scheduled. I would hope that everyone would do the same.

I’m with you on the Bryant deal. I hate the fact that we gave him away. I said it then and I’ll say it now. It was a mistake. The fact that the guy wanted to start isn’t an attitude problem to me.
Regarding Bryant and Moss as ones the Cowboys sent off or let get away:
Can we all agree that Jerry Rice is the greatest receiver ever? He has the numbers and rings to prove it. I will give the man his due. In his time, he was electric.
Now–would it have been a trade up for the Cowboys if the 91 team had traded Irvin for Rice? HELL NO! Irvin was a far better player IN THE DALLAS SYSTEM. He did all of the little things that made that offense go. Most of them never got onto highlight reels, and people saw less of him on Sportscenter than they saw of Rice, but he was far more valuable to Dallas than Rice could ever have been.
I will say it again. The problem with losing Bryant is not that Parcells didn’t get value for him, so much as that HE NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN DRAFTED BY DALLAS. He did not fit the system here, as talented as he was, because he did not, could not, or would not do the kinds of things that make the system here work, such as maintaining the downfield blocks necessary for Julius to make first downs and hit the open field. This is not a knock on his talent or ability, but an indication that he was a poor fit here. Moss on this team would be a disaster, not because he is a head case but because he is a poor fit for the system.
Systems based around a QB and his receivers, by the way, almost never win big. Marino and Fouts made the HOF, but they never won the big one. Warner got one. Winning usually involves teamwork, toughness, and field position. I like what the team has now far better than I would like its chances with all the Mosses and Bryants in the world.

I understand what you’re saying but you still can’t act the way he did. It wasn’t as much the jersey incident as it was his inability to be a professional, like running out routes, not taking play off, doing the little things that make an all-round receiver. The jersey incident was the straw.
Maybe he has grown up since then and will be successful. I hope so. But maybe it was the exit from Dallas and the way it happened that caused that maturity to evolve.
In either case, Dallas didn’t get what they could have out of AB, either from when they drafted him or when they traded him.

The Saint/Giant game will start at 7:30pmEST on ABC and at 9:00pm EST, the Saint/Giant game will switch from ABC to ESPN and the Cowboy/redskin game will start on the national ABC network,at its rugular time, so you dont need to email or call and complain about the gameto ABC.
Price’s contract is a $1M deal with a $500K bonus. That’s $1.5M this year. If he achieves his incentives, the $1M extra counts against next year’s cap. So, in essense, it’s a $1.5M deal - not bad for a guy that was the #1 FA a couple years ago.
And if he performs, Dallas could sign him to a multi-year deal later in the year…

-jerry rice would do just fine in the cowboys system. and the cowboys would also do just fine. replacing michael irvin with jerry rice doesnt subtract or add any super bowls to that era.
-if the cowboys had any talent on offense when AB was here, maybe he fits. troy hambrick + quincy carter + mediocre line = crap. im not making any excuses for AB, but if he has the potential to be a top flight receiver you should be able to make him fit.

COWBOY BERT- interesting points about Bryant being a better fit in systems based around the passing game and those systems never winning big. I’ll have to think about that one. BUT I still think we should have been patient enough to AT LEAST have worked out a better trade for Bryant. I’m guessing there isn’t a Cowboy fan who doesn’t wish we’d at least got something for him.
L. Bowser- DISAGREE. “Replacing Irvin with Rice doesn’t add or subtract Superbowls in that era.”? I think Irvin was more of a LEADER than Rice was. His connection with his teammates, particularly with Smith, were crucial to the Cowboys’ success in the 90’s. Rice was a performance leader, of course, but not the emotional heart and soul that Michael was.
Rice is greatest receiver ever, but I’d draft Irvin instead.

The AB subject is going to be like the Moss one, how many years since that, and we still hear from it… Taking Moss with the team and the coach we had would have contributed for some worst records on those years, there weren’t leaders in those teams, Aikman wasn’t ever a leader, Emmith wasn’t also, Woodson was, but he wouldn’t have serve for nothing in a losing team with a shortage of talent. Moss known lack of teammate ethic, as in I’ll play my best when I want to, would have been as destructive as JJ tactics to keep his winning team as long as possible. AB was like that on that team, just look at what we have now from that team and you’ll find out that half of that team is gone, is it for the better, hell yes! And I’m waiting for the first set of evidences to be displayed on Sunday.

Let’s not get too caught up about letting AB get away. He’s a third-rounder with supposedly first-round talent. 31 other teams let him get away. I agree with Cowboy Bert about R. Moss. He played his first few years with a huge chip on his shoulder because he fell out of the top ten on draft day. Imagine the size of his head if he was selected at number eight. Who do you think would have won the battle of wills between Chan Gailey and Moss?

I was at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden for that draft in ‘98. It’s fun, I recommend it. I was pulling for us to draft Moss.
We were 3-0 heading into Philly that year. I was at the Vet that day. Irvin played his last game. If Moss was on the team, would that linebacker have been able to drop into coverage and knock Michael head first into the turf?
Irvin probably comes out of the game injury free.

Bottom line, we had a 3rd round pick (Bryant) that didn’t work out.
There is a WR we didn’t draft who is almost as bad a character as TO - I know we could have used him - but how many SB’s has he won at this point? He’s been in the league 8 yrs now - with that bad hair cut - and I’m not expecting the Raiders to win it this year either.
We cut a receiver that can’t catch (Morgan), an equivalent anomaly to ‘military intelligence’.
Such is life in this NFL.

Any thoughts on BP moving Burnett over to back up Ware on the weak side so the new LB could be on the strong side? I thought burnett would take over from Singleton by mid year but now i don’t know what the plans are. fujita fairly good i think but is burnett being put out as a backup long term?
Burnett may be better off on the weak side. He is fast but also smaller than the prototypical strong side LB.
So did we use a 2nd rnd pick on backup??
I’ve heard a lot of mediots talking about Burnett being better suited to one of the inside positions in the 3-4. However, with the depth we had inside and the lack of talent outside, Burnett was filling a need and did not practice inside.
Next year, he could be moved inside, with a complete offseason to bulk up. That would give us a pretty formidible LB corps.

All Bradie James has to do is keep playing like he has been and Burnett will get his shot at starting this year. The kid is too fast and too good not to be used in the mix. I think he would be great next to Dat, and James back on the bench.

I want to point one thing out to you. You say that the AB issue is all Parcells fault, but you don’t realize that the team had problems with him before BP came here. In fact, that was the very reason that he slipped to us in the second round. When he was drafted, they said that he had first round talent, but that there were character issues. Well, they came out.
As far as the jersey throwing incident, I don’t know how you could possibly pin that one on BP. If you remember the story, Bryant got mad because he was playing TOO MUCH in practice. How stupid is that. “Hey coach, take me out, I don’t want this much attention, I just want to sit on my butt.” KJ went over to talk to him after he got pulled out of practice and told him that a good WR never wants to come out, even if it is just practice. Then Bil came over and the whole “incident” took place. So, are you saying that BP was playing Bryant too much and he should have known that Bryant didn’t want on the field? That BP was incensitive and Bryant was right to do what he did to teach the mean onld man a lesson? I just don’t see how you pin that on BP.
BP has done some dumb stuff in his day, but I don’t put that one on him. They tried to trade the guy for 4 months (from June until Oct 19) and the best deal they could get was Quincy Morgan. Is it BPs fault that only the Browns were willing to take the guy? You can say all you want about how Morgan wasn’t a fair trade for Bryant, but 2 facts remain, Bryant had done everything he could to get out of here, and we got the very most we could have for him.

Jacob Rogers was a 2nd rounder and nobody’s complaining about his outright release. Maybe because it’s an OL and not a WR, I don’t know. But I agree - those that are here are here. Those that aren’t, aren’t. Let’s win with who we have.

The question I have (which no one has yet to answer) is, if Parcells wanted to get rid of Bryant all along, and intentionally instigated that jersey-throwing incident as an excuse to do so, then, why did it take so long for Parcells to carry out his planned action?
As for Parcells showing preferential treatment to Johnson, if it was true, there is a good reason for it — Johnson was better and much more reliable than Bryant at that time.
Had Bryant taken Price’s attitude, that he had to fight for his roster slot, and had Bryant paid attention to his coaches and actually learned from them, Bryant would have found his place in a rotation, just as Price will this year. But, that was beyond Antonio Bryant. He resented being ONLY the #3 receiver on that team — exactly where he deserved to be, at that time — and he showed it through every action and attitude. That is why he is gone! It is remarkable that we actually got something (although of little value) for him.
In his last press conference, Parcells stated that he will be playing a lot of backups this year. Why this year, and not last year? I doubt that his philosophy in this matter has changed. It is just that this year we have a number of high-quality reserves, who are only a short step below the starters. So, he is giving those reserves a chance for playing time, and perhaps to improve their lot. [This also has the added benefit of resting the starters.] He would have done the same with Bryant last year, if Bryant had only been willing.
Raul just beat me to the punch. Everyone is outraged about “wasting” a third round pick on AB, how about the more valuable 2nd round pick wasted on jacob rogers?? at least while he was here AB contributed somewhat, Rogers barely even saw the field, save a few special teams plays.
Also, someone mentioned how great our WRs would be with our current top 4 plus AB… that would never work in a million years. KJ, Glenn and Price are all more proven than AB, so he would still be 3rd or 4th on the depth chart. if he couldn’t accept that last year, then why would he do it now?? The fact is that AB was a me-first type of player with Dallas, like so many other NFL prima donas. While it’s a shame that we essentially wasted a 3rd rounder on him, at least we cut him off when we did, and did not waste more time and $ on him.
Also, Theismann is the WORST commentator in any sport. I have disliked him since the very first time i had to endure his stupid banter on ESPN. even though he consistently hates on the boys, it’s his ridiculously stupid and unfounded comments in general that make him the worst analyst.

I wonder if we will use Burnett in Ware’s role as a down lineman in the 4-man fronts (nickel or otherwise). If Ware needs a blow in those 4-man fronts, we can always use Ellis and Spears as the DEs, with Glover and Canty as the DTs. Does anyone recall if Burnett played at all with his hand down, in that last preseason game?
Condo got most of the long snaps in preseason. Pierce got a decent share, and Robinson, only a few. I didn’t notice a single bad snap in preseason, regardless of who it was snapping the ball.
Cutting Robinson and Morgan gave Dallas more cap space just in case of an injury to say somebody sort of important like the starting QB.
Ware could be a DE Burnett could not. I see him on the inside personally, and I hope BP moves him there this year. Once he learns the Defense I think he will be a contributor for years to come. I don’t think we need to line up a 235lb LB as a DE. Ware is a beast and is actually stronger than spears despite giving up 50lbs in weight. Burnett is more of a speedster and smaller guy, I say move him inside.
I don’t know much about Fujita. Are the Chiefs Stacked at LB all of a sudden. I did not know the Chiefs were the place to go shopping for defense. I don’t think I have watched much of KC football in years. Was this guy a good pick up and an immediate starter?
I like the addition of Peerless Price. I even thought he might get cut in the Atlanta scheme, and am glad he decided to reunite with Bledsoe. That means two of our recievers have had their best seasons with the starting QB and Crayton might be the best of the bunch……..add in a Witten and this team is not just a Julius Jones one prong attack. All of a sudden we have some youth and speed to go with the age and experience at WR. I like it, I like it a lot!
I think the Rogers/Peterman picks are 2 things that we can put on BP. Peterman is still on the team, yes, but if he were all that we heard he was, we wouldn’t have had to sign a high priced, aging vet.
On Burnett, I think he’ll see plenty of PT this year. Ware is alot more of a pass rusher than Burnett, so he might get in on some running plays and coverage plays in the 3-4. Anyone remember how Terrell Suggs was used his rookie year? I expect Ware to be on the field more than that, but I don’t expect him to be there more than 2/3 to 3/4 of the game.
I also think that Fujita was a great pickup. One of the biggets knocks I’ve had on Singleton is that he never seems to be involved in the play. He’s also not always a sure tackler. You get both of those things in Scott Fujita. I had him on my FFB team the last 2 years, so I started watching him. You never really see him on the field, but he always ends up in the stats column. He tends to get mixed up in the mass of humanity in the line on running plays, but ends up making the tackle. On passing plays he seemed to be very good. He has good speed and never seemed to get beate. The one knock on Fujita is that he isn’t a playmaker. He’s not going to get many sacks, ints, fumbles, or tackles for a loss. What he will do is keep you from getting beaten by a TE or a RB. With BPs emphasis on making plays, I think it’s good to have a guy like this who will keep you out of the big play.
I’d rather be forced to have dinner with Theismann and McGuire than endure any more Antonio Bryant talk.

What is Canty’s best position? A DE in the 3′4, or DE in the 4/3 or nickel 4/2? I don’t have an understanding of where he is best placed. Is he like La’Roi? I pure football player who can play anywhere on the line?

Crayton could be by the end of the year. Getting Price has nothing to do with Crayton but to do with the two old guys. I hope we still draft a WR next year. I would be happy if only two of the top four are back next year and one of them would be Crayton.
In the ESPN preview, on the subject of chemistry and use of talent, the Chiefs are singled out as the worst offenders of gettting good talent and wasting it with poor chemistry/schemes.
Fujita, who is 6 freakin’ 5, 250 lb monster of a linebacker said in an interview that he is perfect for the 3-4, even though he never played in the scheme. Also, he mentioned that the SOLB that he played in KC was nearly identical to our scheme. Add the fact that he lead the Chiefs in tackles the past two years and is only a 4-year player, and I’d say we got a heck of a player. Great pickup BP.
As far as the Rogers/AB busts…you win some, you lose some…but BP’s record on the draft gets an A grade from me. Canty, Pettiti, Beriault, Ratliff, Reeves, and a host of others make up for the mistakes…in spades

I can see next year two or three of the staring LB gone or not starting. I think Dat will be gone next year and it will be a surprise. Burnett will be on the inside with James if he gets his head right.
Ken-I see Crayton as the primary punt returner but with our depth at corner now I can see BP letting Newman get a return or two each week.
