We better stay greedy and come out with urgency in the 2nd half and score points. The cards can play, and beating Dallas is still like the superbowl for them.

Don’t they always close schools and have a parade in Arizona after they beat Dallas?

BTW, nice to be on one of these freacking Hurricanes…no power, no gas, no food, no crap for almost three days…some people still w/o power doen here…it sucks…I can’t imagine what New Orleans was like (or still is)

Dude, you have NO idea. Barber is not only running hard and fast, but he’s BLOCKING and CATCHING the ball well too. He’s got a complete game thus far.

Wonder if they’re gonna spell him and bring in Thompson or let Barber keep playing? I say leave him in, for now.

    ryan on October 30th, 2005 3:45 pm

yea, i mean i wanna see tyson but we shouldnt ruin the momentum he’s gonna be havin, if he startrs strugling, THEN we should try a fresh set of legs with thompson ya know?

  7. 7
    ManTab on October 30th, 2005 3:46 pm

leave him in….let the rookie get some reps…we all know by know A-train wont be here next year…let him sit and only play him if we have injuries

if we dont win this one because of stuppidities like the one we just saw, ill kill someone…they should leave those two snapping the ball until their fingers bleed to see if they ever learn…this is ridiculous already

    kidding.

w/ o this defense, we would be no where near our record, the whole offense should do something for our revamped “D”. what about that tyson thompson, hes doin good on Special teams huh?

But he’s been damn consistent against the long ball. I think he’s solid, especially for a short player back there. He plays large and is a leader in the locker room, from what I here.

I dont think we have a RB controversy…Jones get’s the start if he’s healthy…..remember this was a very crappy team we beat today..Julius was playing very well against Philly. It is nice to see Barber is a very good back up to a very fragile guy as Jones

  153. 153
    bluecheese on October 30th, 2005 5:06 pm

I didn’t see the injury, but there is no way a sports announcer calls a sports hernia from the booth. It is just that it is a “cool” injury to announce since McNabb has one.

Rafael Vela on October 30th, 2005 5:07 pm

    ManTab,

There’s no sure diagnosis. The meathead color guy looked at Henry,
who reached for his waist region and dropped to the ground and said,
    “that’s a sports hernia.”

Doctors tell you not to try to diagnose something over TV or tape.
I trust a TV commentator even less.

    Tim on October 30th, 2005 5:17 pm

Yeah, Baldinger was the announcer who said “sports hernia”– I’m thinking he would not recognize a sports hernia if it hit him in the face.

Henry’s a big concern for me– a serious groin pull could be 5-6 weeks, no? Hopefully it was more like a hip pointer or a mild strain/cramp in the groin or quad area.

Great game by MB3, you’ve gotta love him as a depth option, but Julius is your #1 and if he’s healthy I have to think they start him coming out of the bye. This isn’t a Lou Gehrig/Wally Pip scenario yet– let’s all remember that Barber was playing the Cardinals, not the 85 Bears.

Good win,but have you notice when we play teams like arizona the refs stay out of the game. but when we play the playoff type teams like seattle and philly, they always make key call against us. just look at the play in seattle last week where they pick up the flag for pass interfrence in the endzone. that was a disgrace. lets see what kind of calls we get when we go to wash, ny and philly.

I just wish that Bill would get some of the second string players like Romo or Thompson in some games when we have a big lead to get them some playing time in live action. Romo really should get some chances to play in these kind of Games. The time is going to come when Bledsoe takes a big hit and Romo is going to have to come into a game with NO experience. Why is bledsoe and Barber still in a game when the outcome is assured.

I think Tampa will fade in the second half of the season, their defense which s really good is keeping them in games, with Griese out for the season, I think they are going to fade with Simms at the helm.

    Derrick and Sharkz,
Were you being sarcastic when you asked when Parcells would play the youngsters?
Because, if I’m correct, and I am, he’s playing Ware, Spears, Canty, Barber, Thompson, Burnett and Petitti — all fresh faced rookies; Tucker, Al Johnson, Newman, Davis, Witten, Julius Jones all 2nd year guys, and Bradie James is a 3rd year guy.
Those guys are on the field on nearly every snap, so, what’s your point?

  186. 186
    ManTab on October 30th, 2005 7:42 pm

I think they meant Romo, Copper, Thompson, etc when the game was out of reach for Arz. I would’ve given Romo / Henson some snaps. With Tucker and Pettiti playing, Bledose can take a bad hit any day and who knows…

  187. 187

  188. 188
    Derrick on October 30th, 2005 7:58 pm

    Joey2zs,
NO, I wasn’t being sarcastic, as ManTab said,we were talking about the players that are backups, not the one that are part of the defensive rotation, like a spears, Ratliff, a canty, who are getting more and more playing time as the season goeas on. I’m talking about backup players like a Romo, Copper and Thompson when the game is in hand, not when in the forth quarter, we are within seven points. Its just last year, Bill gave alot of excuses for not getting the young backups no playing time, but what is the excuse this year, when we have a game in hand, thats all. I’m happy that bill has gotten some of the rookies like a Ratliif, spears, Canty some very important playing time, but some of the backups, that need the reps aren’t getting them, thats all, particuliarly Romo

  193. 193
    Derrick on October 30th, 2005 8:29 pm

Cortez Jinx, if thats the case, then the eagles can have him, but I dont think it will be for long, once Ackers is back healthy, Cortez will be looking for work elsewh

The question may have been raised already, but … will Barber be the Cowboys starting RB even after Julius returns? He’s tough, blocks better, is a better receiver, but has had the tendancy to fumble. .. Barber definately gave this team the spark!! Like #22 use to.

  195. 195
    Derrick on October 30th, 2005 9:34 pm

    Eric,
its one game, let tap the breaks alittle, and remember, we were playing the Cardinals, not the Patriots. I watched alot of Barber in Minnesota and thought he was a great draft pick in the forth round to spell JJ, but Make no mistake, JJ is the starter and a better blocker than barber, Barber is going to a a great backup and part of the two headed monster of the Dallas running game along with Tyson Thompson, but JJ is the starter, when healthy, Barber is not Emmitt Smith, let get real..

Don’t forget JJ had 75 yards or so before he left in the first half against Philly

Anybody knows anything about Henry’s injury? We need that guy for the monday nighter….badly

  204. 204
    Tim on October 30th, 2005 11:02 pm

This Barber/Emmitt talk is insane, we were playing the Cardinals. Let’s calm down here. Juice is the starter after the bye if he’s healthy, I don’t think there’s any question, and he’ll continue to be barring fumbling problems or massive ineffectiveness. I’m sure MB3 and Thompson will get their carries, though– at the beginning of the season Parcells had outlined a policy of 35 runs a game– 20-25 to Juice, and 10-15 for the other backs. That may shift a bit away from Julius, but I think those will still be the rough guidelines.

I think it’s a little early to be asking for back-ups to be put in at the end of games, considering how our season has gone so far. I for one was extremely glad to see the Cowboys play a 60 minute game and really finish out against a team for the first time this year. If we had been coasting in wins so far this season, then sure, put Romo or Thompson in today, but given last week’s finish and the Monday Night debacle which we do not speak of, pulling anyone with anything less than a minue remaining seems premature.
