How Do You Like It Now?

Somewhere today, Drew Bledsoe, Jerry Jones and Bill Parcells are smiling.
Word emanates from league meetings that Buffalo is quietly shopping QB J.P. Losman. Losman, you might recall, was obtained when Dallas traded out of the 22nd spot in the 2004 draft. The Cowboys selected Julius Jones, Sean Ryan and Marcus Spears with the picks acquired in exchange.A second related point came last summer, when Buffalo released Drew Bledsoe and named Losman the starter. When Dallas signed Bledsoe, there was some handwringing that the Cowboys had, in effect, passed up Losman for the older Bledsoe and the players mentioned. NFL.com’s Gregg Easterbrook summed the deal up thusly,
Tuesday Morning Quarterback assumes that had the ‘Boys kept their 2004 first pick, they would have selected Losman. Either way, Dallas remains desperate for a young quarterback… the team’s core dilemma remains lack of quality at quarterback, where the deflating Bledsoe is backed up by Drew Henson (18 career pass attempts) and Tony Romo (no career pass attempts). Should Losman become a star, ‘Boys faithful will be tormented by the fact that they might have snagged him.
No torment today. If there were any regrets, the Cowboys could get beyond them by getting Losman, for considerably less than a first round pick, I am sure. Anybody willing to do this?
In other league news:
– Read this story from the NFL meetings and you’ll understand why Bill Parcells stayed in Florida. To my eyes, it has little to do with his love or hate for Terrell Owens. It has everything to do with his disdain for the Metroplex Press. If they were this hard on Owens’ former coach, can you imagine the questions Parcells would have faced?
The same article claims the Eagles will pass on RB LenDale White if he’s available at pick 14. Good. He could really help the Eagles. I’ve beat this drum a lot, so you can razz me on draft day if I’m wrong, but I’m convince Mike Shanahan will select White at 15.
– It seems they’re playing the same will-he-stay-or-will-he-go games with Joe Gibbs in Washington.
– Eric Moulds may be Houston-bound, according to a source. I’m told Moulds has agreed in principle on a Texans contract and could be traded by the weekend, if not sooner.
– Bud Adams is meddling again. The Titans owner may be regressing to bad habits from his Oilers days, suggesting the team will draft a QB this year. (Hang your head in shame, Troll.) In the ’60s and ’70s, Adams would go for every Southwest Conference player he could find, which could make Vince Young a happy man if FrankenBud is indeed back.
– QB Joey Harrington is making the rounds, visiting Cincinnati yesterday. He has already visited Miami. Dallas has obtained persmission to speak to Harrington, though no team is offering the QB anything but a chance to play backup.
– The Packers are taking a long look at CB Charles Woodson. The Packers News speculates that he could be signed for a deal in the $4 million range.
– Ty Law is getting interest from the Titans, Seahawks and Chiefs. K.C. GM Carl Peterson says he won’t move on Law until the draft is over.

I am very glad Houston is going to get Moulds and not Philly. He would definitely help them!
Buffalo is a terrible franchise. Losman started a whopping 8 games behind a bad line, with hardly any weapons besides an aging Moulds.
I would much rather see Dallas trade for Losman than Joey H to be Bledsoe’s successor.

this story says Bills aren’t going to draft Haloti Ngata like everyone thinks. That’d be great if he or Broderick Bunkley somehow fell to No. 18
unlikely though
Raf, the link to the story from the nfl meetings isn’t working.
Thanks.
Over the past year, i have seen some fellow blogger ridicule BP and some of the things he does, but this is yet another fine example on how he is by far usually right than he is wrong. i wonder if and when he does retire he might consider staying on as GM-talent evaluator or something. Few can match his success rate. Besides, we all know he does a better job than JJ.
Andy Reid should take a play from Jimmy Johnson, when asked a question about the departed LB Solomon, on the question of TO. He should simply say, “I’m the HC of the Eagles, TO is not an Eagle, anybody have any quetions about the Eagles”.
J-Man:
If his successor comes from the house, as in Zim, Todd Haley or Todd Bowles, you can count on that, maybe not as a GM but certainly as an advisor for Free Agency and the Draft and as a Training Camp invitee.
Do you guys have any links to current mock drafts ?
Thanks
BP’s wisdom shows itself once again! He knew Bledsoe’s value even if Buffalo didn’t.
keystone, buffalo knows very little about value as we all know. And i have to admitt we really dont know what Losman has yet.. first and second year QB’s are usually garbage anyways.. look at Alex Smith, this guy was supposed to turn into somthing. Very rarely do they come out with a bang, and usually the ones that do are the ones you’ll never expect (Rothlisberger). I dunno i gues i dont think any of us are in any position to say Losman is crappy just cuz he has played a shitty team with a shitty staff and nothing to look forward to, we have no clue how he may blossom in the right system, and after all people on this blog have said JOEY HARRINGTON could blossom, which im not sold on, but if he can im sure Losman has some sort of hope
boysrule,
forgive the link name (insidetheeagles), but this page gives a lot of mock drafts…most of which are free.
http://www.insidetheeagles.com/mockdraftlinks.htm
I don’t know why we are getting such jollies on another team’s failure at getting their QB of the future.
The entire history of the NFL Draft and some teams are littered with examples of “busts”, from Ryan Leaf to Todd Marinovich to Todd Blackledge.
Some teams have never been able to field a great QB (AZ, Chi). Others have been lucky (SF, Dal) and never had to suffer.
What was that word you used Rafael? Something about moribund pleasure being derived from others’ suffering.
Bottom line, who gives a rat’s behind what Buffalo did?
Fighter 15,
Because it wasn’t Dallas making that mistake, that’s why. I found Easterbrook’s comments but he wasn’t the only one slamming Dallas for picking up “Buffalo’s discards” last spring.
And I’m not taking any schadenfraude from the Bills misfortune. I’m expressing relief that it’s not ours.
If LenDale White is still available when the Cowboys draft we should grab him….I know you say he will be gone but I believe whoever gets him is getting a first rate pro type RB. I agree with some of the other bloggers, better Losman than Harrington if we do go for a backup QB but you have to wonder why Parcells has stuck with Romo, he must see something.
Rafe,
The story on the NFL meetings won’t open when clicked………
HOW SWEET IT IS!! YOU COULD TELL,WHEN DP WAS RELEASED BY THE BILLS,HE WAS PISSED OFF.YOU KNOW DAMN WELL DREW NOW FEELS JUSTIFIED.AND WE GOT JJ,MS AND SR TO BOOT.GREAT JOB COWBOYS
Rafael, you know I have the utmost respect for your predictions, but I must go against you on the lendale white topic. i’m continueing my ‘get white!’ campaign and ‘rafael is wrong this time!’ campaign. there are many reasons. one, there is still daengelo williams to consider when it comes to picking him or white. some reports say that williams might fit their schemes better. some mock drafts have williams as #2 RB next to reggie bush with white in #3. secondly, denver went strong for t.o. and lost out and was left in the dirts. why not patch up their bruise with chad jackson or holmes? they still have couple strong RB’s, but the quality of their WR is less. third, this is not a strong arguement but a lot of mock drafts have lendale white even lower than 18.
tons and tons of mocks here:
http://www.footballsfuture.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=45
synergy, palisades:
I remember hearing the same things from Steven Jackson back in 2004 than what I’m hearing now from White, that he could open holes by himself and that he also has the hability to make tacklers miss with some moves.
The truth is that in the NFL if you don’t have a Line opening holes for you, you aren’t going to run for much.
palisades:
White fits better in Denver because they have Bell as the starter, Bell is the same type of RB that Williams is, one that can run through the middle but that’s at his best when going outside. Dayne is what he’s and last season he couldn’t take time away from Mike Anderson and White is a much better prospect than Anderson.
RParr,
For some reason, I expect Watson to go ahead of Ngata.
I know Ngata is on everyone’s top 15, but he was out of shape at the combine. In contrast, Watson dominated anyone in his path at the senior bowl. Given these two contrasting events, I’m not surprised Ngata’s stock is falling. If he gets past the Bills at 8, then he only needs to fall past the Browns to get to Dallas’s spot at 18.
I wish the Cowboys could grab Watson at 49, but I think he’ll be long gone. I expect Watson to go in the top 25.
I really hated to see LA go, especially since we had the cap room to keep him, even at full price.
After reading this http://cowboys.scout.com/2/514688.html, I’m now glad he’s gone, other than the fact that he landed with the Whiners. If you are not on the same page as BP, you need to go. He runs a team like Belichick, doesn’t need an all star at every position, just great team guys (stars don’t hurt though)
Easterbrook, from what i can tell, is a big bills fan. he probably hates bledsoe b/c the bills didnt win the SB with him at QB.
You cant put the extra picks gained and ultimately being able to sign Bledsoe down to BP’s smarts, you have to put it more on the Bill’s management, or lack thereof. much like the windfall of picks we got in the walker trade with the vikes wasnt so much so to our genius as to the vike’s stupidity.
the bottom line in both cases is that we had/have people in place who made/make the most out of those extra picks.
The bills had no choice but to release bledsoe. they had signed a 1st round pick QB, not cheap, and had given up alot to get him, what choice did they have? bledsoe’s performance in buff that year was solid when he had a running game to lean on.
thats why Im nervous about picking “franchise” QBs in round 1. They cost a fortune. If we’re going to do it though, lets do it when the cap space we have isnt prohibitive and when we have a solid talent evaluator at the helm.
Anybody else think we should just take the best player available in round 1 and 2 regardless of position? Draft history is full of burned franchises drafting for need. If memory serves me correctly, the ‘Boys are one of those franchises.
There are arguments for both sides of that. IMO if you are not in need of that position are you not just wasting (to a degree) that #1 pick.
IE: If best avail is a position you are deep in & will not start this player , you still have to pay him 1st round money ! At that point I would look to trade down & get an extra pick or maybe 2. Now I can address my need & more. Matt Millen took best avail 3 years in a row with WR. Now there are exceptions but BP will have several ways he can go come draft day. When he is on the clock he will decide which direction is best but probably not before.
RParr,
Buffalo is not a terrible franchise. Donahoe was an idiot. They did dominate the AFC for nearly a decade.
Also, Bledsoe will not play on a team with Losman. Too much bad blood. So, if we are going to get a young QB (not in the draft) it would be JH. I hope it has not come to that. If we do go for a QB in the draft I would perfer Croyle from Alabama - maybe in the third round. IMO I do not think QB is a priority right now. I actually like TR.
Back to the Bowl!!
Take the BPA.
Often there is no delimma. if you have guys per your evaluation that are worth taking at 18 and they fill a need, great. if you dont, and no one calls to offer the farm for pick # 18, what else are you going to do? fill a need position with a guy who all signs say is not talented enough for the 1st round or take the BPA?
Take the BPA.
For those that have not researched Watson- go to any Michigan board and ask there. Better yet check him out and see that he was BENCHED for laziness his senior year. There is NO way that Ngata falls very far. Certainly Watson will NEVER be picked before Ngata.
Romo is respected; however, I worry that Henson won’t get a fair shake, thus these strange QB inquiries. The fact that Jerry said he didn’t see any of the tape from Europe or review the scouting reports, raises a red flag. How could the Cowboys brass not watch Rhein Fire? Henson looks great…. size, foot speed, zip on the ball, accuracy (17 or 24 last week) and some moxie. I like Henson better than Lossman and Harrington. This is the best QB situation Dallas has had in years…
Raf, that’s awesome news. Sure, I’ll revel in another franchise’s stupdity when it helps the Cowboys. When the scroe on a trade is 4-0 that is substantial. Maybe not as good as the Mike Lynn debacle but if this Cowboy’s team does something this trade may be looked back upon as one of the “extra” moves to get the team above the pack.
This headline points out the great personnel decisions that have been made by the Tuna since his arrival. The last three years’ draft, compared to the three “Before Tuna” makes that point in even greater detail. However, Jerry is starting to meddle again. This Harrington inquiry without talking to Bill is NOT a good sign. TO might be another example, although I like it. Jerry is starting to meddle, and of couse, it starts at the QB position.
Jarhead,
I don’t think it is that simple to pick the BPA. Teams draft out of need. Anything else and your salary cap could be screwed, your talent levels could be skewed, and you might be left scrambling looking through other teams cuts to shore up your starters. Not a good place to be.
The only time we are going to see Ngata is on TV. He isn’t making it to 13 never mind 18.
Interesting comment made by Matt Mosley on DMN CowboysPlus:
The rest of the article here: http://www.cowboysplus.com/topstorync/stories/033106cpmosley.78087181.html
That would be big enough to play well, if he has gotten there by some weight room work.
alan,
I never said dont draft for need. im essentially saying dont “reach” for need.
There are arguably 4 or 5 positions of “need” this year so Im confident a needed player will be there at 18. Im sure they consider team needs when looking at their options, which is sound drafting logic. Im just advocating spending a first round pick on a player whose talent/potential justifies the price you will pay.
Draft more for need in lower rounds where the cost is less and the risk associated with a reach is much less.
Tucker has signed an offer sheet from Bucs…anyone sad?
Can you imagine how BP’s gonna react after TO scores in a close game and does a celebration dance and gets the team penalized 15 yards on the ensuing kickoff?
Rev,
T^2 is a RFA right? So we get have the right to match?
How good an offer?
Hearing that Johnson has added 12 pounds makes me feel a LOT better about the interior of the OL. Hopefully he’ll add a little more, but that is great news.
725k to keep tucker and we dont get a pick b/c we didnt draft him. my guess is they’ll let him go.
We have very good RBs and should not go RB, White or no White, in the first round. I want to see Julius with a good OL. IMO, when we do, you’ll forget you ever suggested White. Bookend for Ware in the first and I’ll be happy.
OLB in the first (unless Justice slips to 18), then OL/FS in 2nd (whoever has the most value of the two that’s available), then OL/FS in the 3rd (whichever one wasn’t addressed in round 2). super bowl
1st - OLB in the first
2nd - BPA at OL, FS, or NT
3rd - BPA at OL, FS, or NT
2nd day BPA
I think they’ll take an OG in the second. Jean-Gilles, Spencer, Lutiu(spelling), Joseph could all step in mid way through the season and each has the potential to be dominant when they’re NFL ready. This way, Kosier can start the first part of the year, but can be relagated to backup duty for many positions when the rookie is able to start. I think they paid Kosier so much so he could save on roster spots for OLmen that have to be dressed for Sunday. To me, he’s worth more than a normal backup if he can play several positions and allows you to dress fewer men at one position.
On Chandus’ link about Johnson, there’s also some info on Kosier. If that scout thinks he’s the real deal then I’m sure BP knows about it. Kosier may be the LG for the year, and moved around should someone get injured
The Ranch Report mentioned the Cowboys worked out one of the more intriguing defensive players in the 06 Draft. I dont subscribe and cant read the article.
Who are they talking about and what r they saying?
Jar,
Lot’s of Blogsters are honking about needing Off Line help.
T^2 didn’t do too bad last year and I think he’s improving. Other options right now are Columbo, Price, Washburn.
If they let him go I figure BP has faith in Columbo, a FA OT in mind or a OT draft pick planned.
Anyway thanks for the info.

Hi Everybody!
Rafael, Oiler Troll is confused and simply does not know what you are talking about…mainly because Bud Adams has been dead to Oiler Troll for many, many….many excruciating years.
But Hey, Oiler Troll os not all about lame attempts at snark, but likes to educate as well.
So, Kids, Oiler Troll consults his handy-dandy history of all things meaningful (aka “Oiler Blues” by John Pirkle), so all of your Cowboy fans can feel all the more grateful to have decent ownership…and what, 4 titles…ok, ok, fine - the one against Craig Morton (The Neil O’Donnell of the ’70s) makes it 5.
Bud’s Drafting Gaffs or “How NOT to manage a professional football team”:
1962 After winning the AFL title, Bud did not bother to re-sign his coach, Wally Lemm. Filling in for the coach, Adams personally oversaw the draft, which meant he let Lance Alworth fall to San Diego. Not helping was the fact that the NFL was signing players roughly at a rate of 3-1 over the AFL.
1963 taking the loss of the AFL Title game to Len Dawson a little hard, Adams lets the AFL and the Houston Police Dept investigate George Blanda for throwing the game. This somewhat embittered Blanda to the team and the owner…forever.
Also, training camp was moved to Colorado Springs. Colorado suffered a nasty drought, so the practice fields had to be watered with sewar water. As you might imagine, players got sick.
No starters drafted this year.
1964 Accepts the rights to the one and only Jerry Rhome over some guy named Joe Willie Namathson or something
(That’s enough pain for now. Oiler Troll needs a drink. 1965-1996 to come later).
OT
I think some of my fellow Cowboy Fans have forgotten just how bad the O-Line actually was at the end of this year, especially without Flo. I think the Cowboys should get Lutui in the 2nd & that Jonathan Scott will be there in the 3rd, only because of a poor bench press at the combine. I watch Scott play every Saturday for Texas & he has been GREAT. IMHO, an upgraded offensive line would be the key to going far in the playoffs.
i think it would be safer to get Scott in the 2nd and Lutui in the 3rd. I also saw practically every game of Scott’s career. He is a dandy. But keep in mind, it’s a lot easier to block for a whirling dervish like Vince than a statue like Bledsoe.
The Triplets got so much credit & deservedly so, of the cowboy’s success in the early 90’s. But to me, the offensive line, as a whole, was just as impressive as all the skill positions.
Our Dallas Cowboys 2006-2007 Schedule
Sept. 10 at Jacksonville
Sept. 18 at NY Giants (Monday Night)
Sept. 24 Detroit
Oct. 1 at Atlanta
Oct. 8 Indianapolis
Oct. 15 at Washington
Oct. 22 (Bye)
Oct. 30 Philadelphia (Monday Night)
Nov. 5 Houston
Nov. 12 at Carolina
Nov. 19 New Orleans
Nov. 23 Tampa Bay
Dec. 3 at Arizona
Dec. 10 NY Giants
Dec. 17 at Philadelphia
Dec. 24 Washington
Jan. 31 at Tennessee
That is a tough looking schedule. I’m glad we play at home before the Thanksgiving game.
derrick where did you find the schedule?
giants-washington-eagles all back to back, but 2 at home, we can wrap up the division those weeks. Im suprised they have the home game with Philly on Monday Night, you would think they would want the game iN philly on MN.
That one will be on Sunday night, the national game, nice and cold in mid-December, so the drunk fans can cheer Owens getting hurt and all the Cowboy haters can watch Dallas lose.
That’s the league and network thinking, anyway.
Where indeed. The teams don’t even have their schedule yet. I’ll believe it when i see it on there
How easy do you think it’ll be to buy scalped ticket to the Philly game? Me and 4 friends wanna go and that’s the easiest way. You think scalpers will hang on to the tickets since its a big game
Or Owens puts up 7 catches for a 140 and 2 TD’s, flaps his wings when he scores, and JJ runs for a 120 while the Boys wrap up the division and home field in the playoffs?
I like that schedule a lot better than last year’s. It seems more balanced, perhaps even a little easier towards the end, than at the beginning.
Most of the division away games are early. So are the tough games against Jacksonville, Atlanta, and Indianapolis. In December (and January), while 3 of the 5 games are away, only 1 of those is against a division opponent. We get New York and Washington at home. Tennessee should not have recovered enough this year to give us any problem in that last game. [Famous last words!] The Carolina away game is sandwiched by home games against Houston and New Orleans.
I would rather the bye came two weeks later, after the Monday Night game against the Eagles.
Basically, if we can survive past Carolina at 5-4, we should make the playoffs easily.
Tucker’s agent claims that the Bucs’ offer is ‘a lot more’ than the tender offer — $712,000. Personally, I thought the tender offer was more than enough compensation for Tucker. I can’t see giving him a signing bonus that would tie him to the team for a couple of years. To me, any offer the Bucs might have made over the tender is more than I would want to match.
The agent thinks the Cowboys will match. Maybe so. They certainly have the cap space. But I wouldn’t do it.
Until he says where he got the schedule I’m not buying it. NFL.com has preseason but no regular season schedule for any team. I think he’s pulling our chain
Slide910
Yeah, I checked there and at ESPN.com. Nothing!
Hmmm!
Hey, Derrick,
Are you in some weird timezone, where it is already April 1, or did you just forget your ‘30 days hath’s?
Going back to the draft, although Dallas has improved under BP I still think there is a lot of 1st round talent at numerous positions that can help Dallas be a better team. I’ve said it before: there are at least 15 players I think are good enough for Dallas to take at 18, and I’m sure a couple of them will drop to 18.
Dallas has definite needs at OLB, OT, NT, OG, WR, FS.
As far as the positions Dallas is set at for now, QB, TE, RB, if the right guy falls, he’s hard to pass up. Leinart, Young, Cutler - heck yeah - learn behind Bledsoe for a year or two. V.Davis - heack yeah - not a need but a talent that will immediately improve any roster. Only RB I’d take is Reggie so no worry there.
I think Dallas stays at 18 because the top talent this year is varied and deep. I think they only trade down if they get a great deal like they did with Buffalo 2 years ago and still can get one of their “top” selections a couple picks later.
And I don’t see many reasons to trade up. Dallas just isn’t that desparate for any particular player, unless they can trade up without forfeiting much value.
As good as the top talent is at the various positions - many of Dallas’ top position needs are deep in this draft and they’ll get good players after round one.
I think Dallas propels itself forward this year because finally the draft is shaped just for the Cowboys to succeed. I’m stoked!
Trade sccenario- we swap 1st round picks with Buffalo, they give us their 3rd,and we help them out by taking JP Losman off their hands! LOL
Guys, I promise you that is NOT our schedule for this year. The new TV contract between the NFL and the networks states that a team can appear a maximum of one time on Monday night (ESPN). Nice try Derrick!
DJRUN-If there are 32 teams and 16 Monday night games, each team must play one Monday Night game with no repeats. That would make scheduling a nightmare. I’m not saying it is not true but that would have to be the main consideration when setting up the sched. I would think their main focus would be putting the best product on the most TV across the country. Thats is what will capture the most eyes, not the Cards vs Saints just for fairness. With the revenue sharing it would even hurt the Saints and Cardinals to be on Monday night since it would have a negative impact on overall revenue(in the long run).
Hey slide, I go to several games a year. If you just need 2 tickets, scalped is the way to go. You can easily get for average priced tickets, but they won’t be together. I found it is best to buy the season 2 pack. It think it was $96 for 2 games. I did the skins monday nighter and detroit last year. I think its a pretty good deal.
On T Tucker, I have my doubts we’d keep him anyway. Here’s the depth chart for OT for the fall:
Flo Adams
Jason Fabini
Rob Petitti
(draft choice)
I don’t see where Tucker fits unless they keep 5 and lose Columbo which I doubt.
Len,
Can’t argue with your logic, but something tells me we keep him (Tucker). This of course depends on what the Bucs offered him. BP invested some seasoning in him. He even talked highly of him after some of the games on how he graded out. We all saw the games he struggled on and that seems to be what we concentrate on. On the other side, another thing you didn’t mention is his continous youth movement. We do have some youngsters coming back from injury.
DJRUN, No way that teams will only appear once on manoday nite games. That is the whole reason why they are pushing for the “flexible schedule” for late season prime time games.
As for the 2006 schedule, ther is no way that teams will only play a max of one monday nite game. That is the whole reason for Tag’s “flexable schedule” of late season games.
Sean & artj in VA,
You have to remember that “Monday Night Football” as we have known it for decades is gone! In the past the Monday night games on ABC were the top games featuring the best teams (based on the previous season and expectations for the upcoming season) and the big market cities. In other words, this was “the game of the week”. In contrast to that the Sunday night games on ESPN were often not very “glamorous” games. i.e. Sunday night (ESPN) got the leftovers.
Under the new TV contract with the league the new “game of the week” will be on Sunday nights (NBC). And the Monday night games (which I am told a team can only appear once on this year) will be the leftovers. In case you need proof of this change, look at the first week’s games that have been announced. Sunday night is Indy & NY Giants. Two playoff teams including a Super Bowl favorite (Indy) and the biggest TV market in the country (NY). Not to mention the first time ever in NFL history two brothers will start against each other at QB. Now look at the first Monday night of the year. For some dumb reason the NFL decided to do a doubleheader. But the games are Minn vs. Washington and Oakland vs. SD. While these games aren’t terrible they clearly are not the cream of the crop. I mean Aaron Brooks against Philip Rivers (two non-playoff teams from last year). And even Minn vs. Washington seems to lack some firepower. I doubt many people will pick either yet a lone both of these as division wiiners in 2006.
What does this mean for Dallas? Look for them to be on Sunday Night the maximum 3 times allowed possibly against teams like Indy, New York, Carolina, Atlanta, Washington and almost certianly Phily. As for Monday night, Dallas will play once but probably against a team that is consider a “weaker” draw in terms of TV status (New Orleans? Tennessee? Houston?).
By the way, the only reason I brought up the whole Sunday vs. Monday night TV deal was to refute Derrick’s posting of our 2006 schedule. But as you can see he has for some reason suddenly dissappeared when he was challeneged about the schedule he posted.
DJRUN,
Last year, the ABC Monday Night crew telecast 17 regular-season games (including the Thursday-night season opener). You still haven’t explained how the NFL is going to handle that situation without scheduling a team more than once. Is the NFL going to expand by two teams (at the very least) before September? Even if the NFL decides to have the new Monday Night crew do only 16 games this year, it would be a nightmare to schedule. There is no way that the NFL would restrict themselves so drastically in their scheduling with such an arbitrary and needless rule.
You even acknowledge that there will be a ‘doubleheader’ on the first Monday night of the year. There goes 4 teams in one week. Only 28 teams left, and 16 weeks to go.
You need to check with whomever told you about this restriction. Maybe ask for a link. Because, it doesn’t make an awful lot of sense. Actually, I believe it to be utterly impossible.
The Cowboys should definitely go after Losman, He won some games last year on a below average offense. As for Joey Harrington he is a waste of time and money we saw what he could do in Detriot nothing…..
I don’t know if it would be wise to go after Harrington. Losman, maybe, but not Harrington.
As for getting Bledsoe last year, it was a great move, and who knows Bledsoe better than the man who drafted him?
