saints and falcons should be a good game

    emrdog on November 26th, 2006 12:34 pm

don’t know why i said that twice??? weird.

Anyway, watching Atlanta and New Orleans…Atlanta’s defense looks horrible…really bad. Brees looks like a stud.
Also watching Baltimore and Pittsburg. Baltimore is pushing them around on the line…Baltimore looks like a good playoff team today.

GOT to watch that Giants/Titans game!!!! Is it CBS or FOX?

14 to zip saints right now Vick is living up to his over rated reputation. Lots of former Cowboys playing.

    keystonetom on November 26th, 2006 12:36 pm

Well as soon as I said that, Vick has a 51 yard run

Who do you guys think will be the Cowboys’ toughest game the rest of the year.

  8. 8
    emrdog on November 26th, 2006 12:43 pm

next week at the Giants…1) second toughest road game of the year behind the Philly game this year. Therefore, the game is by far the toughest left on the schedule.
2)Saints @home will be tough. That will be a test for the defense.

    keystonetom on November 26th, 2006 12:44 pm

man Pittsburgh looks terrible. Are the Ravens that good?

Rothelsberger is getting no protection and may be hurt

  15. 15
    Squidlo97 on November 26th, 2006 1:05 pm

We match up well with the saints. They will move the ball on us but we should move it on them easier. Their DBs are weak.

  16. 16
    Squidlo97 on November 26th, 2006 1:11 pm

Is Vick the fastest man alive. He always looks like he acelerating. Hes at a different speed than everyone else. He scares the hell out of me.

  17. 17
    bostonfan on November 26th, 2006 1:12 pm

What is the deal with Jacksonville losing to the Bills? They have to be the most up and down team in the NFL. We would crush them if we played them now.

  18. 18
    mvppalisades on November 26th, 2006 1:17 pm

    bostonfan-

i knew the jax were jokes. they did NOT convince me with their win on monday night football. eli and the giants played so bad, and yet they were still in position to win the game the whole time. jax couldnt put them away. that’s just not right.

even if they make a comeback and win today, i confirmed my doubts about them.

  19. 19
    Squidlo97 on November 26th, 2006 1:23 pm

I think the Bills are a young team on the rise. They got a little talent. Not sure which is the real JP Losman. Evans the WR can fly and Mcgehee is tough. Marv aunt no dummy.

  25. 25
    mvppalisades on November 26th, 2006 1:31 pm

    keystone and emrdog-

before u conclude that giants will be the toughest game, lets see how they play today first. last week, they looked like pure garbage. if that happens again today, giants might as well be the easiest game other than the lions.

  26. 26
    emrdog on November 26th, 2006 1:38 pm

    mvppalisades,
no way. even if new york looks like the cardinals today, dallas is still going have to pull out a real good performance to beat ‘em up at new york. doesn’t matter how good a team is or how badly they may be playing or whatever…a division game on the road, especially in the nfc east is always tough.

  27. 27
    emrdog on November 26th, 2006 1:46 pm

someone tell brees and palmer to slow down. we need romo’s 306 yds to stay safe.

  28. 28

with the easy games out of the way, 49′ers don’t look so hot anymore.

  32. 32
    ManTab on November 26th, 2006 2:01 pm

Did anyone hear the jerry jones show on dallascowboys.com?

He spent Thanksgiving night with Jimmy Johnson watching the Kansas vs Denver game talking about how good the times were when Jimmy was coaching the Cowboys.

Insurance in case Parcells decides to retire?

panthers cant score a single TD.

  35. 35
Rafael Vela on November 26th, 2006 2:07 pm

    Squidlo,

I love the “hand picked” term. They’re games, not coffee beans. Is Juan Valdez picking them?

It’s committee picked, and the Giants get there because Dallas plays on Christmas Day alone vs. the Eagles. The Giants game is the day before. Also, Dallas vs. Atlanta is on the NFL network, which will tick off a lot of people who don’t have it on cable.

  36. 36
    StillHateTheGiants on November 26th, 2006 2:09 pm

    Mantab,

I hope Jimmy doesn’t come back with this team. He’s not that good of a coach for an established team.

  37. 37
    StillHateTheGiants on November 26th, 2006 2:10 pm

If you want to watch games on the NFL Network, just get Direct TV. It feels sooooooooooo good taking your wire cutters to that cable line coming in your house.

  38. 38
    Elwood on November 26th, 2006 2:11 pm

    D—UMB is pretty funny though

  39. 39
Rafael Vela on November 26th, 2006 2:13 pm

I don’t have access to DirecTV in my apt. complex and I don’t know if I want NFL network. They’re only offering eight games all year and from what I understand, there are several regional networks that have better broadcast standards than the NFL did with the Chiefs-Broncos game.

I’m doing a story on this later this week. Short version — the NFL is putting a gun to our heads and demanding more money. I don’t feel like paying it because they’re not earning it.

  40. 40

  41. 41
    mvppalisades on November 26th, 2006 2:16 pm

    panthers are losing

and what about zimmer for coach?

  42. 42
Rafael Vela on November 26th, 2006 2:20 pm

Jason Campbell and Jake Delhomme are setting the game back 70 years today. Campbell is averaging 2.7 passing yards per *attempt* and Delhomme is averaging 2.9. This isn’t 1969 and Woody Hayes and Bo Schembechler are not the HCs on the sidelines. Man I’m glad I can’t see that game. I’d have poked my eyes out by now.

    mvpalisades,

What about Parcells as HC? Zimmer hasn’t proven squat and given how poorly his interviews have gone the last three years, I’d rather turn this team over to an established HC. There’s going to be a full cupboard when Parcells retires - a team with a definite title window. Do you want to risk it on an unknown?

    I don’t.

  43. 43
    emrdog on November 26th, 2006 2:22 pm

    Raf,
can you find out what markets are going to be able to see the atlanta game without nfl network??? that would figgin’ rule…i can’t find out any info.

  44. 44
    Squidlo97 on November 26th, 2006 2:26 pm

Stillhate thats a interesting point about Jimmy. I always thought I would want him back anytime, but an established team wouldnt be his.

  45. 45
    ManTab on November 26th, 2006 2:30 pm

no way I want Zimmer….no way

  46. 46
    bushpilot on November 26th, 2006 2:46 pm

Raf, good point about the NFL network. I bought the game for $12 to watch it on the internet, because I can’t get cable or satellite right now. If they think thet Gumbel/Collinsworth are a respectable team, they are sadly mistaken.

I won’t pay a dime for any more of their games, unless the Cowboys are on. If anyone wants to watch a Cowboy game on NFL Network, and their cable provider doesn’t provide it, you can get it on this link for $12.

i’d take Jimmy back in a heartbeat if BP does retire, which wont be anytime soon, IMO.

  48. 48
    bushpilot on November 26th, 2006 2:48 pm

As far as Zimmer is concerned, forget it. I want an established coach to come in here to carry it forward, when Parcells decides to step away.

    itrustintuna on November 26th, 2006 2:49 pm

but if sean payton could be brought back….

  50. 50
    mvppalisades on November 26th, 2006 2:50 pm

first of all- this is too early to say, but cowboys can emerge as a nfl powerhouse with romo and the 3-4 system finally being broken in like a nice baseball glove. i think parcells will be here for much longer than we think.

  51. 51
    emrdog on November 26th, 2006 2:58 pm

since this is kind of an off week for the cowboys, we really need a “I hate the NFL network because they are making it difficult to view a simple football game” thred.
I know, I know…get dish network you say. Well, screw that!!! I’ve got beef with dish network. I tried to get dish network but the guy who came to install it said the only place I could put it and get reception was right in the middle of my yard on top of a 6 foot pole. AND they wanted me to pay 75 dollars for the pole. First of all, I’m from Oklahoma but I ain’t trailer park. I’m not compromising my yard for a dish. Second of all, you want me to pay 75 dollars to make my yard ugly. No. Screw you Dish Network!!!

  52. 52
    mvppalisades on November 26th, 2006 2:59 pm

wow panthers cant even beat the deadskins. that’s one less team to worry about for the conference title game.

  53. 53
    Squidlo97 on November 26th, 2006 3:01 pm

I think shockey just broke his finger. Too bad it wasnt his mouth. Of course you realize when we beat them we will have to hear all offseason, draft, minicamp, training camp, preseason, and start of season is how they could of beat us if they had been healthy and our post season success should have been theirs. I work with a New Yorker and I might have to quit my job.

  54. 54
    mvppalisades on November 26th, 2006 3:02 pm

we also know the falcons has no shot at the cowboys. they might be one of the most 1-dimensional team in the leagues.

  55. 55
    Elwood on November 26th, 2006 3:03 pm

    Falcons appear to have quit.

  56. 56

  57. 57
    mvppalisades on November 26th, 2006 3:05 pm

    budfox,
excuse me, it was directv…it’s the princple of the thing…i don’t want a stupid looking yard just for football…when i was a kid, we just turned the tv on and the game was there…you didn’t have to deal with satelite angles and crap like that!!

  62. 62
    emrdog on November 26th, 2006 3:14 pm

man, did you hear the atlanta crowd boo at the end of the game? i’d do the same, they look absolutely awful.

  63. 63
    Budfox27 on November 26th, 2006 3:14 pm

    Emrdog,

When you were a kid there was only one game on and those days sucked. I would talk to somebody about the pole. I live in Oklahoma also (Tulsa) and my dish is tucked away right on the roof. I am getting ready to watch the Giants get killed in High Def!

  64. 64
    mvppalisades on November 26th, 2006 3:15 pm

budfox- i second to that. it’s not about watching the giants get killed, but it’s all about watching them get killed on high definition.

    Budfox,
cool, I’m in stillwater. That’s where i wanted them to put the dish (on the roof) but i was gone and my wife said the guy just insisted on the pole. let us know what’s happening w/ that game if you can!

    Raf and others:

Regarding the NFL Network broadcast, you better know where your mute button is. Gumble and Collingsworth are absolutely terrible. Much worse than the Monday crew. I could have been mistaken but the video quality seemed bad too. I just know I like Direct TV because I get so many games. Today I had 2 at 1:00 and 2 more at 4:00. No reason for me to get the Ticket.

    jkdallas on November 26th, 2006 4:06 pm

    ermdog-
Sorry, I’m a bit behind here, but sounds like you got a lazy-assed dish installer. If he could hit the sats with a 6′ pole, I almost guarantee you could get reception from the top of your roof, either a pole attached to the side of the house or strapped to a chiminey if you have one (unless there are like 100′ trees directly to the south of the house that could be avoided from the yard). My experience is that some of the (sub-contracted) installers won’t mess with more-than-easy installs and insist on a yard install. If you can stand on the top of your house and see the sky to the south at a 45 degree elevation, you can get the DTV dish on your roof.

  92. 92
    bushpilot on November 26th, 2006 4:10 pm

  93. 93
    emrdog on November 26th, 2006 4:11 pm

yeah, that’s kinda what I thought. there are a lot of trees to the south…so that’s why i didn’t push the point. But there’s a house down the street from me with a dish that’s on the roof with trees to the south as well. I just said “screw it” i didn’t think it would effect my football viewing. turned out I was wrong.

i dont know but brady is about to go 20-1 on turf. its a good thing the superbowl is in miami so cowboys dont have to deal with that.

uh yeah that’s right i mentioned cowboys and superbowl in the same sentence. it is very clear to me right now that if u don’t have a balanced team, then u are very vulnerable to upsets (example- chargers vs raiders right now, cowboys vs colts)

I hate the pass interference call in the NFL. No way should there be a 45 yard penalty on a ball that might not be caught. It’s BS! I am going to be a nervous Willie all week waing for the douche bag giants. I going to take Friday off to start my weekend sooner! I love football and this time of the year!

Jackson their rookie WR caught a long pass, and went down untouched, then got up spun the ball foward as he walked back. Oaklandpicked it up, and the refs called it Oaklands ball, but reversed the call, saying it was an illegal foward pass.
