Wow! a 10 point swing. Romo and the boys need to march down the field and score.

    jkdallas on December 31st, 2006 12:11 pm

The penalty was “Hit on a defenseless receiver”. The ball was tipped, so I would have thought no penlaty, but I guess it was sort of helmet-to-helmet. Just looked like a collision to me.

    Tighthead,

They called it “A hit on a defenseless receiver!”

    bval77-
Soft in coverage to the flats (imagine that), but pretty strong against the run so far. 1 sack, couple of interception opps

  19. 19
    onepaniolo on December 31st, 2006 12:19 pm

What a horrible offensive line we have. We may end the season on a 3 game losing streak and losing 4 out of 5 at this rate.

This is starting to look like last years closer when they mailed it in against the Rams.

  20. 20
Leather Neck on December 31st, 2006 12:20 pm

The offense is horrible…how can we not block the worst defense in the league in sacks???

Sorry Sirius. They were carrying the games earlier in the year.

Nice grab TO. There’s the key - throw it behind him

  66. 66
    onepaniolo on December 31st, 2006 12:49 pm

What worries me most about these Cowboys is:

The defense can’t stop anyone. When something doesn’t go their way like that bad call, they cave.

The offense always seems to take forever to get going, and when they do, they’re already down by double digits.

It’s a recipe for disaster, and these guys show very little life. They don’t have a fiery demeanor and that starts at the top.

This is the 2-13 Detroit Lions, for crying out loud!

  67. 67
    magic64 on December 31st, 2006 12:49 pm

Nice pass to TO, let’s see more of that.

    Keystonetom,

They’ve been on sleeping pills since Thanksgiving. Doesn’t Turkey make you sleepy? Let’s blame Romo for getting the “Galloping Gobbler!” It’s that stinkin’ turkey! He needs to burn that thing! Throw it in a dumpster.

  72. 72

You know what’s really disappointing about this game? The special teams. For all the emphasis that Parcells places on special teams, they are playing pathetic today.

Seriously guys, if the Cowboys don’t improve their overall play, it is going to be one and done in the playoffs. We are playing a scab team right now and we are barely beating them.

  145. 145
    jkdallas on December 31st, 2006 1:26 pm

They gave Bowen the earlier sack… not half to Ware

Tell me about the turnover. ESPN gamecast didn’t tell what it was. Was it a muffed punt?

    Muffed punt by Newman

what was that effort? I just can’t understand the freaking defense. Just when you think they’ve turned the corner, they give up a TD with 8 seconds to go. WOW!!

Down 20-14 against the 2-13 Detroit Lions. Why are we even in the playoffs? Oh, the NFC sucks eggs, that’s why! Embarrassing! Our defense is too porous.

  160. 160
    freetam on December 31st, 2006 1:31 pm

this defense is fragile. if they have no ability to rebound from mistakes. FIRE ZIMMER, just for the fact that this 2-13 team is leading at the half.

    jkdallas on December 31st, 2006 1:31 pm

What a wonderful homer Charlie Waters is. He thinks it should have been interference on the Newman punt muff and a push-off by Williams on that last Lions TD. Love it… so much more fun that the TV idiots

    PSU Alum 2005 on December 31st, 2006 1:34 pm

I cant understand why Glenn is on R.Williams…Glen may be good but come on, Newman should be on his ass…..RW is too big for Glenn to cover solo…

BTW, dont take Detroit too lightly, they gave Chicago a run for their money………that doesnt mean they suck now, does it?

Anyways, lets hope the 2nd half is better than this.

  167. 167
    scn on December 31st, 2006 1:36 pm

As bad as the defence has been playing of late, I don’t think that they are really that bad. There’s too much talent. A few more pieces next year and better coaching/schemes and more intensity by the players and the defence can be cooking again.

  168. 168
    jkdallas on December 31st, 2006 1:37 pm

    PSU-
I think Newman move to the slot receiver on nickle - R.Williams was lined up wide on that play, correct? I Need to look at the formation again.

The Cowobys are playing like they have nothing to play for. It’s like they want to quit. Seattle will be salivating after this performance.

    magic64 on December 31st, 2006 1:39 pm

We’re playing at HOME, man. Come on, for pete’s sake, Parcell. Better chew some A#@ in the locker and make some serious adjustments. Ware can’t do it all by himself, the secondary has to step up.

  171. 171
    nwhargis on December 31st, 2006 1:40 pm

You guys might think Im crazy, But I think our Def is a lot better. I think Bill is holding back alot on Offence and Defence. Last week he flat said on the post game. He would take the blame for the loss, That his players didnt look prepared. I find it hard to believe he wouldnt have them ready unless he was holding back.

  172. 172
    jkdallas on December 31st, 2006 1:41 pm

Yup, Newman and Henry were on the left side and had their guys. Glenn was singled up with the bigger Roy Williams. He didn’t have chance. And it didn’t look like a push off to me. Hard to tell from the camera angle

    emmitt>barry on December 31st, 2006 1:42 pm

Yes, Terence covers the slot receiver in the nickel, because that is the toughest position to cover– the WR can break inside OR outside.

Did we sit Henry down to rest him? I didn’t see him for the whole second quarter. I’m okay if that’s the case– otherwise, shouldn’t he be on Roy Williams? He’s much taller than Aaron is.

    Offense looks pretty good.

Where are all these defensive guys like Stephen Bowen and Nathan Jones coming from? It’s like we’re starting our whole practice squad.

I don’t know a single Cowoboys fan who doesn’t think Waters have been a complete buffoon on the radio calls this year.

    I can’t listen to them.

    Ridgelake on December 31st, 2006 1:43 pm

This is the second game in a row that we’ve been outcoached at the end of the second half.

How do we allow RW to be matched up solo on Glenn? You know they are going for the endzone, the least you can do is give safety help on the guy MOST LIKELY TO BE TARGETED. Seven points lost.

Last week, Philly had 8 seconds and needed about 15 yards for FG range. We put in the goalline prevent D to protect against a TD. They throw a nice easy 15 yard out with no defender within 5 yards of the receiver. He steps out of bounds with 2 seconds left and Akers comes in to kick a FG. How do we not cover the sidelines on a play like that? Coaching mistake. Three points lost.

Its bad enough to get beat on the field. Getting out-coached with what we’re paying Parcells is unacceptable.

Why don’t we make a deal with the Lions: Let’s let THEM go to the playoffs, and we’ll take their first pick in the draft.

    I wonder if they’d go for that….

Got something to say?
