Magic - I can relate. But now I finally have a reason to join Facebook.

And as a bonus you get to see what Raf looks like - (assuming that’s really a photo of you Raf).

I just saw the most interesting thing I’ve ever heard from Dingleberry (i.e., Liitle Ball of Shi…I mean Hate).

She answered a question about the Pats forfeiting the higher of their two picks next year…meaning we can actually cheer for the 9ers to lose ‘em all to really stick it to NE.

She and husband Mac Engel write for Ft Worth Star-Telegram. She, more than Mac, is unduly influenced by the second-biggest mediot (behind Skip Brainfart) Randy Galloway.

She goes by the nom de guerre “Little Ball of Hate”. Given the quality of her work and opinions, I call her “Little Ball of Shit (aka a Dingleberry)”

Anyway, rha, I’ve not been able to find anything, but according to Dingleberry’s “Hate Chat”, she confirmed a question from a reader that the Pats lose the “higher” pick.

Supposedly, it was confirmed by the Commish during a Sunday Night game chat with Costas.

Fighter, this is awesome if true, a true serendipitous event. Gives reason to cheer against SF just so ole NE can dream of what could have been.

Actually I remember that interview with Roger Goodell on Sunday Night football. He distinctly said that the Patriots will lose their First round pick and not the one the acquired.

The little ball of crap is wrong again.

Off both topics, lol! But while I am sitting here waiting on the Dish guy to get here I had the pleasure of enduring what a lot of yall have already said about Skip Clueless.

“Tony Romeo”, “Cute Little Sidearm Passes”. His rants are a joke, what an ass.

Speaking of, that’s where time warner can put their cable!

    kshaw on November 28th, 2007 10:06 am

Oh, he didn’t say who he thought would win tomorrow, he’s waffling because Green Bay is “beat up”. He will wait until tomorrow. I’m glad I’ll be back at work.

Clueless say’s Romeo’s season will end in Green Bay.

I guess I’ll add my two cents when it comes to mediots Jaque Taylors column yesterday was titled “Cowboys need to win a big game at home”. He cites the losses to the Saints last year and this year loss to the Pats as to why they must win a big game at home. Now I don’t know why last years loss to the Saints has anything to do with this year’s team and last time I checked everyone has loss to the Pats. I guess he questioning their mental toughness and their ability to win big games. I guess three straight wins against divisional opponents, two of which were on the road and going unbeaten on the road overall doesn’t prove anything. What an idiot!

    Kshaw:
I can understand your fustration about the game and Time Warner but put yourself in their shoes. If the NFL had signed an exclusive deal with your competitor giving them the Sunday Ticket package and then try to blackmail you into overpaying for their network by holding Cowboy games hostage how would you react.

Is anyone else sick of the pissing war between Time Warner and NFLN? Every radio ad seems to be a shot back and forth. I get NFLN, having switched to DirecTV last year because our cable system here is an overpriced joke on a lot of other fronts. Getting NFLN is just a nice benefit, not my reason to switch. It is nice to be out of the current fight, though I am tired of hearing them battle back and forth.

If your cable company doesn’t give you what you want, fire them. Market economics is beautiful.

i don’t get the so called experts saying green bay has a running game.a couple of decent games running the ball does not constitute a strong running game.i think we win a close one.

  18. 18
    StillHateTheGiants on November 28th, 2007 12:18 pm

It’s hard to pick a side in the NFLN vs Cable Companies. Two monopolies fighting with each other over which one gets more of our money doesn’t get me excited. It probably would if I didn’t already have DTV so I can watch the game anyway.

I originally switched long ago to DTV because of disgust with the cable companies (poor product, poor service, constant rate inc). Typical result of an over regulated market where the gov. chooses to limit my choices of suppliers. When competition came, I couldn’t wait to switch.

Having said all that, I don’t know how it can be in the NFL’s best interest to have 2/3 of the country not be able to watch this game.

    Rafael,

I have a request. When you do the Boys/Pack breakdown….how about some analysis on how exactly this Packers team went from putrid to powerhouse? I just don’t get it. In what phases of the game did the team make these huge leaps and bounds? It seems really strange that a team who started last year 4-8 has now gone 14-1 since then.

cowboy bert on November 28th, 2007 3:01 pm

Swirvin, I think there might be several reasons.

First, there has yet to be a preview here of GB, so nobody has been predicting scores and jumping up and down.

Second, speaking for myself, while I detest the divisional teams, I more respect GB, seeing them as a worthy foe. I still want to pound them, but not like I want to damage the Eagles. Limit Favre and beat him, but beat McNabb up and knock him out for several games.

Third, it looks like several people have been trying to figure out Facebook and lurking there.

Fourth, I think the suddenness of the Taylor death might have taken something out of everybody. That will come back, as people realize that senseless deaths are senseless and they adjust to them.

    Shane J on November 28th, 2007 3:59 pm

    swirvin & bert,
I think bert may have hit on something. This blog was very alive prior to the Taylor death. Most were not only talking Packers but even Pats as well. I think it kind of took the wind out of everybody. I bet it will be back to what ever normal is for us soon. With this bunch I know we didn’t shoot the wad and nothing else to say!

I agree that Sean Taylor’s death has taken much of the joy out of football right now. Every year, and sometimes more than once, players die one way or another. Their passing seems to always leave us stunned. Maybe we do put these guys too high up on a pedestal. They’re just human, after all.

I’ve got to get out of this funk before kickoff tomorrow.

Boy from Oz on November 28th, 2007 5:05 pm

    norm / Cowboyman / biz - I’m not having a problem.

From my personal point of view I agree with the notion on Taylor. With his death so front of mind it almost seemed inappropriate to be posting about other football matters.

But we must move on. So here is my initial thesis for the game (using NFL.com’s situational stats for QB’s - great data):

Favre and Romo are both gunslingers, quality QB’s but both occasionally guilty of pressing too hard and making mistakes as a result. To my mind this factor is key to the game.

Favre has been vastly better this year - but primarily because his team has been ahead in most games. Only 94 of his 425 attempts (22%) have been while his team is behind. In the 3 seasons prior, the majority of his attempts have been from behind - and his QB rating has been 20-25 points LOWER when behind.

On the other hand, one thing sticks out dramatically – Romo needs “warm-up time”. Romo’s QB rating in Q1 is a lowly 58 - and close to or over 100 in every other quarter. (An amazing 140 in Q3, with 12 TD’s and O INT’s!)

So my theory on the game:
    > Romo needs to play within himself in the first half, to not gift the Packers any easy points. If the Pack have a good lead (a la the Pats game), Favre won’t make mistakes and they will play “keep-away” in the 2nd half – holding the ball as long as possible.
    > If its tied or we have a lead going into Q3, then Romo takes it away and Favre blows it trying to match him - pressing against our Nickel & Dime defence.

    Boy From Oz,

Doesn’t look like we’ll be getting the Green Bay game on Fox. Last week they showed the Colts vs Falcons on NFL Network but this week they’re not showing the Dallas vs Green Bay NFL Network game, why? It really sucks. I guess I’ll have to have to buy it on Yahoo Game Pass. What are you gonna do?

Regarding post #30: I’ve had both the satellite packages. Dish Net and DTV. Believe me, if it wasn’t for Sunday Ticket there’d probably be only one satellite company, Dish Net. I’ve got Dish Net right now and I won’t switch to DTV even though I’d love to have the Sunday Ticket.

Luke - its a bummer. I figured it must be because its an NFL Network game - but as you noted they have shown NFLN games before via Fox.

We have had great coverage of the Boys but have missed the two biggest games, makes no sense.

I think I am going to have to do the GamePass thing - can’t miss this one….

Wow, your’e kidding right? Not surprised at all. His bad books and the rumor mill he started has made him persona non grata in Dallas and that a-wipe just can’t get over it. dcfan,

So you won’t be on the online chat?? Damn!!! And I thought it was lonely last week. Just 3 of us.

I recorded the last 2 of Skippy’s shows but haven’t had a chance to watch them yet. He’s just a tool. He keeps getting on Romo for being short but Drew Brees is shorter. The problem is that Skip keeps saying Romo’s just six foot when he’s actually 6 foot 2 inches. The guy has to make up things to rag Romo about. Hell, he’s a huge fan of Chase Daniels from Mizzou and he’s only 6 foot himself. Like I said, just a tool.

  48. 48
    hmtyrant on November 28th, 2007 7:17 pm

Comcast has a deal around where I live (Baltimore) wher you can get 6 month for $1.99 a month for the NFL network and some other crappy sports channels. I got it just for the game, and am going to cancel the day after the game. Essentially it will cost me 1.99 to watch the game at home. I called Comcast and flat out told them what I was going to do. They said that I could cancel it at any time and I would only be charged the one month.

  49. 49
Boy from Oz on November 28th, 2007 7:26 pm

Skippy is clueless, we shouldn’t waste time on him, other than to refute his idiot comments.

    As noted above,
    Romo is 6-2
    Favre is 6-2
and Brees is shorter at 6-0

    Also,
The Great Joe Montana is 6-2
    McNabb is 6-2
    Garcia is 6-1

Nothing he says is based on facts.

Got something to say?
