Who Would You Rather Have?

June 3, 2008

Brett Favre has retired — we think.

Who would you now put in the NFC QB pantheon? Let’s go division by division:

NFC East

  • Cowboys — Tony Romo
  • Giants — Eli Manning
  • Eagles — Donovan McNabb
  • Redskins — Jason Campbell

NFC North

  • Packers — Aaron Rogers
  • Bears — Rex Grossman
  • Vikings — Tarvaris Jackson/Kelly Holcombe?
  • Lions — Jon Kitna

NFC South

  • Bucs — Jeff Garcia
  • Saints — Drew Brees
  • Falcons — Matt Ryan
  • Panthers — Jake Delhomme

NFC West

  • Seahawks — Matt Hasselbeck
  • Rams — Marc Bulger
  • Cardinals — Kurt Warner/Matt Leinart
  • 49ers — Alex Smith

Who do you put in the top tier? I’d say Brees and Romo without hesitation. Manning’s regular season work doesn’t merit a mention but that stellar playoff run last year is what the game is all about.

What about McNabb and Hasselbeck, who have taken teams to Super Bowls and can still perform at top level with strong supporting casts? Or Bulger, who flies under the radar but is very effective when he has protection, which is rare these days?

Create a pantheon and a second tier in the thread.
