So Sue Me! BSR Roundup, June 26th
June 26, 2008
– A federal judge has given a New York Jets season-ticket holder more time to amend a lawsuit that seeks millions from the New England Patriots and coach Bill Belichick for “deceiving customers” by videotaping opponents’ signals.
– Failed comedian and social commentator Don Imus’ recent comments about Adam Jones may have killed whatever chance he had of regaining advertisers lost after he was fired by CBS. Proof that sometimes stupidity doesn’t pay.

Chyeah, I’ve always wanted to be first!
And you did it so well Joker!! Great job!!!
so i can not wait to see felix and marion
this is their first season together. in fact this is the first season with felix, marion and choice. They should be good. A first and a third with an All Pro. They have a chance to be great. Rationally they got a shot, it is not a sure thing or anything, but the odds are nice. With so many teams going pass heavy (offenses and defenses), maybe the cowboys go run at the right time.
I heard last night on the NFL channel (Adam Chefter)that the Cowboys are interested in bringing Joe Horn in. Has anybody heard anything to support this? I think he could be a nice fit. My other question would be what would it cost to bring him here? Is he a free agent or would we have to trade?
I heard that boon… but does horn have anything left?
Boon, if we bring in Joe Horn, Hurd, Austin and Stanback must really suck. I would not like to hear that.
I think if Horn comes in it would be to replace Terry Glenn. We could use a little more insurance if one of the other three don’t step up and take the next step. The Cowboys have probably the most talent of any NFL team. We can’t take any chances. I say the more talent on the team the better we are.
Thank you Kam!
And Joe Horn? Can you say desperation?
As far as,”does He have anything left?” Where was he last year? The Falcons!!! A reciever like Joe Horn or any other reciever that still might have skills but is getting older needs a good team. If you remember Terry Glenn was supposed to be washed up as well. When you give a player Like the possibuility of playing on a playoff caliber team it can really motivate. Remember Moss playing at the raiders.
I think it’s nothing more than getting a proven veteran on the roster in case Glenn either can’t go or decides not to play. Nothing more.
Joe Horn is 36 years old! 2 years older than both Glenn and TO, and just 3 years younger than dirt.
If this guy has more upside than Crayton, Hurd, Austin, etc. then we are in SERIOUS trouble this season.
I agree with Raul, I don’t assume taking a look at Horn = Hurd, Austin, Stanback suck. Get him in, see what he’s got and then make a decision. He could be easily cut, or fall somewhere below any/all those guys on the depth chart. I do find it hard to believe he would fill the roll or TG though, was he ever a speed receiver?
To replace Glenn’s spot you do not want another player with potential, you want a veteran. Unless there is a large signing bonus (unlikely) then it’s really just a camp invite until he makes the final roster.
They will not keep him as a 6th wide out at the expense of young talent at other positions, if they sign him and keep him on the final roster it is because he is no lower then 4th on the debth chart. At that point you can wonder about the yonger players who sit behind him.
The camp schedule along with practice times is out. Kinda sucks as this is a very short training camp. They break camp three days after the first pre-season game. The camp schedule calls for less then two dozen practices. There are only 5 two-a-days practice days this year. In Parcells first year they had about 40 practices here in Oxnard and they held the league maximum two-a-day practice days. Unless they up the hitting in camp it will be labeled camp cup cake II, and maybe rightfully so.
Raul,
What is Joe Horns situtation? Is he still with the Falcons or is a free agent?
Trey,
I agree, Horn would not make the roster as the 5th or 6th WR.
I expect to see a lot of Austin in preseason. Hurd has proven he can be relied on while Austin has shown only potential and measurables. Stanback should be given at least 1 more year. I would limit TO’s preseason snaps and let Austin have as many as possible. After 3-4 preseason games, I think everyone would have seen enough to make a good decision.
Its really slow right now, so FYI Barber is not an all pro, he is a pro bowl running back , difference?
ALL PRO- its means the very best regardless of conference. Jason Witten, ware, and TO are first team ALL PRO.
The all pro running backs are LT, and Westbrook(first team)
second team was Peterson, and Fred Taylor.
Ps, my favorite player is the BARBARIAN!
Boondog:
Horn was still under contract with the Falcons. He wants them to move or release him.
If so and his contract is favorable Atlanta should keep him instead of trading for a 6th or 7th. A rookie QB can use a wide out who is where he is supposed to be.
Horn provides that every play.
TCBinNYC,
So with your math you are saying I’m as old as dirt. Thanks. lol
Didn’t we get Peerless Price as a Falcon reject? Has the same feel to me. No, thanks.
Imus is an OK guy. I’ve listened to him, and he is not a racist. Since Americans can only consume a sentence at a time, they’re only going to print just the two lines from his show.
Just listened to the interview with Demarcus on DC.com and read the article in the NY Times mentioned in the interview. Is there a classier player in the NFL? When asked why he holds his camps, he says is to show kids that whatever their circumstances, they can get to the top. Is there a more professional player in the NFL? You’d never know what he’s gone through personally knowing how he plays.
