New and Better Toys

Posted: July 14, 2008 @ 4:37 pm

The changes keep coming here at BSR.

– First, we’re going on the air. My radio partner Luis Rios and I have reached an agreement to create a training camp radio show for KSOX, the Espn affiliate in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. We will have time Tuesday through Friday with an option to continue through the season.

I’m not sure of the fine points at this time but I’m hoping they’ll stream the show over the net and offer a toll free number for call ins so all you BSR regulars can listen and call in. I’ll keep you posted as the program develops.

– Check out the new E-Bay widget in the lower right hand corner, which shows Cowboys tickets for sale on their site. We get a cut from E-Bay’s cut on any tickets bought on a click-through from this site. It gives you a chance to help us while you help yourself.

Thats pretty cool Raf, if they do stream let us know. It’d be pretty cool to have some BSR people calling in.

Radio, very nice!! New toys is right. Pod cast?? Maybe I should have given more during the fund drive, maybe we would have a BSR T.V. show.

Rafael, got you covered, my car radio is tuned to 1240 on the AM dial..that’d be KSOX. I’ll look forward to your time on the air, I’m assuming you will be on late drive time. Cool!

We’re asking about saving the shows so that they will be available for your on-demand listening pleasure. But this will be a live radio show from Oxnard.

    Raf/Raul/Other regulars - I’m curious.

With the new format of the blog is the expectation that multiple posts will stay alive at any point in time? I was hoping so - for example the CB analysis posting didn’t get sufficient time in my view to develop the discussion as this short post that is really more of an announcement went up the same day.

Is there any point continuing discussion on the previous post or would I just be wasting my typing?

I would like to think we could keep at least 2 major posts running in parallel or is that just contrary to standard posting behaviour?

Tuesday is the last day for Hamlin to sign long-term.

I love how I was reading Eatman’s article and he quoted Hamlin as having 102 tackles. I had to look THAT one up!
No, how about 62-and that’s counting assists. (45 solo)
How did he get 102? That’s a glaring error, because you have to be a LB tackling machine to hit 100 tackles!
That’s like saying Ryan Howard is batting .310 and not even noticing it doesn’t make sense.

And I was all set to write about how odd it was that our free safety had so many tackles, and what did that say about our LB’s etc. etc.-
But of course I did the difficult research to look the number up before I posted! On a blog!
And he’s writing for the official team site!

Raf, congrats on a new outlet, it’d be real interesting to hear up-to-the-hour reports. And to compare them to the ones on the team site.
    COWBOYMAN, you going down?

    Boy from Oz:

That’s one of the premises behind blogging. There can be multiple topics of discussion open at once. People can comment under the story/discussion they are involved in and then go to another thread (story) and discuss there.

Congrats guys! It is well deserved. So now all you have to do is work on those podcasts, and get them up on the iTunes store. I’m sure you’re working on that already though.
