Newman: A “Significant” Groin Injury
Posted: July 29, 2008 @ 7:04 pm
Wade Phillips opened his presser today with the news that an MRI on Terence Newman revealed a “significant” groin injury that will keep him out a minimum of three weeks.
Dr. Luis Rios, the medical doctor half of the sports doctors, said, “if this is a normal individual, I’d tell them they were out at least six weeks. But pro athletes are not normal people and with the trainers they can access, I’d say maybe four to six weeks. I doubt he’ll play in the pre-season, but why does he need to?”

Well, my relatively healthy Training Camp wish has already been flushed away….
I will add by saying
“DOH!”
He should be fine and hopefully this wont linger into the season. If it does, we have never been better prepared.
If we survived with Reeves filling in last year, this year will just fine. Stay healthy and get Newman ready and we are fine.
Honestly, as much as it bums me out… I’d rather it happen now if it was going to happen.
He’s a vet who will be able to come back in and I’m pretty positive he’ll be OK.
I’m not wishing for injuries, but isn’t it nice that there are at least three other CBs who are pushing to start who need the work more than Newman?
Let’s see what Adam Jones and the rookie have.
seems as if he has a significant injury every TC.
And from Dolphins camp:
Ricky Williams seems to be the biggest hit with the coaches and looks like he did 3 years ago. Fasano looks like he will start at TE.
Will TG be South Beach bound? Stay tuned.
In 2004 he had that knee problem; other then last year this is the first time he has had a significant injury and even this is not that bad. Just takes rest and treatment. If it was going to happen its best it happens now. Plenty of time untill the season starts for him to heal.
