Avert Your Eyes Children!

The words “Bill Belichick” and “sex tape” should never be in the same sentence. But they are.
Way. Too. Much. Information… (shudder)

Haha, so Teddy Bruschi is an asshole?
Thats awesome.
wow,
did anyone else see the mess that turned into?
all sorts of Pats fans sounding off on that Tom guy…
Sorry for my seemingly random, drive by, posts; but I’m in and out and cant blog on a regular basis.
I’m happy to see rafael getting what seems to be plenty of access to coaches and players, but on to the point of my post.
Lots of writing out there that wade is on the hot seat. And OK, i’ll buy that. After all, he is the HC who was 13-3 last year, but one and done. JJ has opened the pocketbook and he, and we, rightfully expect some results.
Having said that though, please consider the following.
I submit that Jason Garrett, ie, Big Red, the future HC, the man in waiting, and whatever else you want to call him, is on as much of a hot seat as wade.
Lets say that the defense performs to the highest of levels this year. There is no question that WP is the defense guy. It is his forte, and his focus. While he is the HC, and thus responsible for overall game plans and key gametime decisions, he is not the highest paid offensive coordinator in the league, and he is not the “detail” guy on the offense (an offense that is loaded).
Thus, if all remains “hunky dory” in the locker room this year, and if the defense is top 5 throughout the season (and post-season), yet dallas does not make it to the SB, should we fire wade?
What if it is the offense that falters?
Assuming romo stays healthy, and TO too, what culpability will Big Red have if the offense is the weak link?
What if TO goes down (knocking on wood here), say in november?
How will garrett adjust? I submit that there is still enough talent on the offense to score some points.
Wade is responsible for some of that adjustment, but garrett is the highest paid O-coord in the NFL.
I submit that if this offense is the weak link. If adjustments aren’t made when a key guy goes down…..
maybe he isn’t the right choice for the next HC.
Im not suggesting that garrett isn’t all that. he certainly appears to be a high quality coach, but he seems to already be “annointed” (to steal an expression from texs’ favorite coach).
Maybe we should put the oil back on the shelf for now and see what the man does in his second year as an O-coord with all this talent.
Sorry, the Tommy guy sounds like just another nobody looking for a headline. Maybe what he says is true, maybe it isn’t. I don’t really see the relavence to this blog.
“How will garrett adjust? I submit that there is still enough talent on the offense to score some points.”
If some points equals 17-20 and the three-headed running back monster truly proves to be the mother load, then maybe.
Unless a guy like Stanback becomes a force to be reckoned with, it will still be all too easy for the opposing defenses to take away Witten and then all the smoke and mirrors in the world isn’t going to help guys like Crayton, Hurd, or Austin beat their respective defenders enough times to manufacture close to some of the high point totals from a season ago. I’ve already been over this.
Now, that being said, assuming the defense comes close to playing up to their potential, I still think we could win some games (minus T.O.) in the 17-13 or 17-10 range.
