Cowboys First In East, Beat Philly 20-16

What do we have here? Yes, it’s the 6-2 Dallas Cowboys who are sitting alone atop the NFC East standings after a superb win on the road over the Philadelphia Eagles, 20-16. This was a typical NFC East slug-fest, but the team that punched the hardest was the Cowboys.

Big props to a defense that held the Eagles superweapons in check all night long. The Cowboys were not going to get beat over the top, so naturally they gave up some rushing yards and some short passing, but in the end the Eagles were only able to get 16 points on the board. That’s well below their game average thanks to some good pass rush from Jay Ratliff and DeMarcus Ware and solid secondary play.

Mike Jenkins is turning into a stud. His interception was a big-time play.

The stop on 4th and 1 was a testament to a defense that seems to be getting better as the season rolls on.

On the offensive side of the ball, Tony Romo wasn’t spectacular, but he was patient, efficient, and in the end, a winner. Roy Williams finally got involved, Jason WItten had a big game, and Miles Austin only needed one catch to change the game.

The introduction of the WIldcat paid off as Tashard Choice had a few good runs including a touchdown.

This game was a street fight, on the enemies turf, with first place in the East on the line, and this Cowboys team came to win.

Raf will be by later tonight for some analysis. In the meantime, use this thread to celebrate good times.
